Club Projects

Locally, The Lake Country Rotary Club has sponsored and participated in a number of projects since its inception in 1978, from installing a clock tower in downtown Hartland to building the Lake Country Rotary Splash Pad in Nixon Park in 2012. We support Yule Feed Families, the Downtown Hartland Business Trick or Treat, the Hartland Street Dance, the Lake Area Free Clinic, Zachariah’s Acres, the Women’s Shelter of Waukesha, and many more.

Internationally, we have been involved in administering Polio vaccinations, teaching animal husbandry, distribution of water filtration systems in Haiti, and most recently,  partnering with the Rotary Club of Hai Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, to build proper bathrooms for children who attend Kirima Secondary School. The school’s existing toilet block collapsed due to heavy rains. Students at the Kirima Secondary School miss many days of school due to illnesses associated with improper sanitation. Many female students had decided to stop coming to school altogether because of the lack of toilets.
